Privacy Policy – Customer Reviews & Testimonials

At True Water Septic we sometimes ask happy customers if they’d like to leave us a public review or allow us to share a short testimonial on our website. Your privacy is extremely important to us, so here’s exactly how we handle that information under Canadian law (PIPEDA and BC’s Personal Information Protection Act).

1. What personal information we collect for reviews

When you agree to give us a review or testimonial we may collect:

  • Your first name (and optionally last initial)
  • Your city or neighbourhood (e.g., “John S. – Langford”)
  • Your written or verbal feedback
  • A photo or short video only with separate, explicit consent
  • Star rating

We never publish your full last name, address, phone number, email, or any account details without your written permission.

2. How we get your consent

  • Google Reviews → you post them yourself on Google – we simply display the public ones.
  • On-site written testimonial → we ask you in person, by email or text if we may use your words and first name.
  • Photo/video testimonial → we get a separate signed or clearly recorded verbal release before publishing.

You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 5).

3. Where reviews appear

  • On our website (truewaterseptic.ca)
  • On our Google Business Profile
  • Occasionally on social media (Facebook/Instagram) or printed brochures

We will never sell or share your review data with third parties except our website hosting provider and Google itself (for Google reviews).

4. Security

Reviews are stored on password-protected Canadian servers. Photos and videos are kept only as long as the testimonial is published.

5. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

  • See any personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete your review or testimonial
  • Withdraw consent at any time

Just email truewaterseptic@gmail.com or call (250) 812-4812 and we will remove it within 2 business days (Google reviews are removed via your own Google account or we can request removal on your behalf).

6. Children

We do not knowingly collect reviews from anyone under 19 years of age.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how we handle reviews we will update this page and notify anyone affected.
